Jan Howe – Integrative Counsellor
Whatever issues you’re experiencing, I offer a confidential one-to-one counselling service to help you work through them. You can talk through your problems, and explore emotional problems in a safe and confidential setting.
The usual practice is to arrange to meet on a once per week basis, on the same days and at the same times each week. Sessions take place either from my home in South West London, or via Skype if that’s more convenient for you.
Bereavement and Grief
Loss comes in many forms and grief is a natural response to losing someone or something you care about. Everyone’s experiences are unique and it may affect you in different ways at different times.
If your emotions are so intense you feel you can’t go on, or if you can’t cope with your day-to-day life, you may need help. For example, if you struggle to go to work, look after children or socialise with friends. If you’re experiencing these feelings, it’s important to get support.
Anxiety and Stress
Anxiety can make a person imagine that things in their life are worse than they really are, and prevent them from confronting their fears. If you’re unable to control your worries, and stress is impacting your daily life, or if you are avoiding situations due to fears, constantly worrying, or experiencing severe anxiety about an event weeks after it happened, it may be time to seek help.
Young People
It can often be difficult for children and/or young people to be able to talk to parents or family members about what they are thinking and feeling. Talking to someone outside of the family can help your child to build trust, feel heard, and feel safe whilst learning to gain coping strategies and make sense of the world they live in.
